Stewarding Your Thoughts

DAY 4 OF 5

Rejoice Always. Pray Continually. Give Thanks in ALL Circumstances.

Wow! That seems like a tall order doesn’t it.

Rejoice? Even when a spouse loses their job?

Pray Continually? Even when my prayers don’t seem to be answered?

Give Thanks? Even when I get that scary diagnosis?

It can seem impossible in our own strength to walk out these commandments. But let’s not forget to look at the last part of that scripture, it is the will of God.

Friends, is there any better place to be than walking in the will of God over your life? God’s will for you is good, even when outside circumstances don’t look that way. In Christ we can walk these commands out, and see our lives enriched by the Holy Spirit as we do.

Rejoice? Even when a spouse loses their job? Yes! You will get a front row seat to all the miraculous ways God will provide for just like he promised he would!!!

Pray Continually? Even when my prayers seem to go unanswered? Yes, because God is refining you in the waiting and working on your behalf in the silence.

Give Thanks? Even when I get that scary diagnosis? Yes, because God has promised to never leave or forsake us and He will walk through any valley with us, and work out all things for our good and His glory!

The key to stewarding our thoughts is to have our minds oriented towards praise, prayer and gratitude.

Reflection:

  1. Where do you need to rejoice more? Pray more? Thank more? How can you turn your eyes towards Jesus in this way even through difficult circumstances?
  2. How do you think your life might change if you were walking in the will of God in this way?

About this Plan

Stewarding Your Thoughts

One of the biggest battles we face is in our minds. Our thoughts drive our feelings, which often dictate our behaviours and shape our lives. In this 5-day study, we will look at 5 different Scriptures and apply them to become better stewards of our thoughts and, in turn, walk more in God's will for our lives.
