21-Day Devotional for Christian WritersSample
Everybody that writes will, at one point or the other, face The Blank Screen. Sometimes it lasts for minutes, hours, or days. The serious cases can last for months and even years. The only way to conquer this impasse is by remembering that God is infinitely creative and that we are made in His image. We should also remember the Holy Spirit, the Creative One. This same “Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead,” He can and will resurrect your creative juices - just ask Him.
The Bible says that there is no fear in love, because perfect love casts out fear. So if you’re struggling with the fear of the blank screen, know that fear has no place in your life. God has called you to be a writer and has empowered you with His Holy Spirit to write for Him. Choose to believe His Word about His Spirit living in you (yes, this same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead), then go and write, knowing that He has given life to your creative juices.
Prayer confession:
Lord, I thank You that You have given me the pen of a skillful writer. In the name of Jesus, I speak renewal and creativity into my writing and release the power of the Holy Spirit into my skillful hands. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Now, go write and don’t stop!
