Unleash the Blessing

DAY 3 OF 3

How to Bless Someone?

More than songs, God invites you to pray as an ambassador of His kingdom for those around you. I have long wondered about the way I pray for others. The Bible tells us to make supplications, and this is one way to pray, but Jesus made short prayers to heal people.

I often wondered if I had the authority to declare a blessing on someone. Indeed, before praying for someone, we must know the Father's will so that he will listen to us. His will can be found in the Bible, but it can also be revealed to us in a specific way by the Holy Spirit. We can pray with faith and believe that the Lord will act by the means of the knowledge of God's will.

Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours (Mk 11:24).

When I discovered this principle, I began to pray, believing that my words activate God's action. For example, instead of saying, "Lord, please bless Jean-Pierre," I now declare, "Jean-Pierre, I bless you in the name of Jesus." And then I expect the Holy Spirit to touch him.

I often even ask at the end of my prayer if the person has experienced something, had a vision, or heard from God because I expect it to happen. If I declare what God wants to do, he does it. So I begin by focusing on Jesus and asking him how I should pray before I even open my mouth.

Then I pray and declare what he shows me, speaking slowly, which allows me to follow his directions as I receive them. It also allows the person to welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in them. God can take action instantly or gradually.

For example, the peace of God can come very gradually and not be immediately perceptible. Therefore, we must go at the pace of the Holy Spirit. What is important is not what I say, but what God does. My prayers, therefore, are not meant to speak to the intelligence of the person I am praying for but to initiate, accentuate, and accompany the work of the Holy Spirit in that person.

Remain dependent on the Holy Spirit and listen to Him whisper His guidance to you, then act as an ambassador and speak in the name of your king!

I invite you to discover the books I have written:

-Listening to God: A Practical and Biblical Guide to Recognizing God's Voice and Experiencing the Supernatural.

- The audio prayeyr Guide : 21 days listening to God's voice. I invite you to spend 15 minutes a day, for 21 days, learning to hear God's voice.

About this Plan

Unleash the Blessing

At the beginning of the COViD-19 crisis, a song went around the world, taken up in all languages and interpreted by artists united in declaring one thing: God's blessing. This prayer dates back to the time of Moses and Aaron, but they were not the authors. It was God himself who commanded them to bless his people! Let us discover together the God of blessing.
