Love God Greatly: God With Us

DAY 4 OF 26

SOAP – Isaiah 7:14
God’s prophecy that the Messiah would be born to Mary would come to pass through submission and trust in the most difficult of circumstances. A pregnant virgin Mary risked being stoned for fornication. Joseph risked the slander and stigma of illegitimacy. What appears to be the worst circumstance possible turns out to be God’s magnificent plan of redemption to unite with His people. Submission to God’s will always involves risk, but the rewards are eternal.

What unlikely, uncomfortable, or inconvenient situation are you facing? God has not called believers to live comfortable, convenient, and prosperous lives. He has called believers to live our lives surrendered to Him. A life fully surrendered to God will be uncomfortable and inconvenient, but we don’t have to endure alone. Because of Jesus’ advent, death, and resurrection, God is forever with those who have surrendered their lives to Him.

Father God, You are the God who uses the improbable and inconceivable circumstances to magnify Your glory. Help me, Lord, to model Your example of humility and to walk in the path that You have set before me with obedience and steadfastness. Lord, I pray for Your strength and courage to submit to Your plans for my life no matter how uncomfortable, incomprehensible, or inconvenient. Lord, remind me that through it all, I am never alone. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: God With Us

In this 4-week Advent Study, we will look at some of the Old Testament promises of the Savior and the humility that would characterize Him. We will study why He came and the response of various people in the Christmas story, including how we too should respond to Jesus and His coming. You can purchase the book on Amazon: God With Us by Love God Greatly. Please note: The study is designed to break on the weekends. You will have two days each week without content.
