Making Faith Magnetic

DAY 9 OF 12

JESUS IS THE WAY OF CONTROL

Because God is the one who made you and designed you, He’s the one who knows you best and who knows what is best for you. Therefore, a Christian view of destiny is relational and deeply personal. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and He shows us who is in control. And because He is good, we can trust Him and trust that His plans are for our good.

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus knows us, guides us, and satisfies us. It is remarkable that Jesus knows each of us intimately- every sheep has a name! He made us uniquely and He delights in each of us. We can trust that Jesus guides us faithfully- He has shown us the way. He navigated the temptations and struggles of life as a man, and we can follow Him knowing that He goes ahead of us. And Jesus satisfies us abundantly- a good shepherd leads his sheep to green pastures and quiet waters. We can let go of fear and worry and control because He supplies what we need.

Ask Yourself:

-How have I experienced the difference between trying to control my life and allowing Jesus to lead me?

-Who in my life is trying to stay in control of everything?

Pause to Pray: Jesus, You are the one in control of all things. I want to follow you as my Good Shepherd so that my life and my faith are magnetic- drawing people to You. Amen

Take a Next Step:

- Get the conversation started! Try this with someone you’ve been praying for:

“Who is in control when a 3-year-old is in the room?”
“What are the easiest things for you to control?”
“How do you manage this specific area of your life?” (parenting, schedule, diet, etc)

-In your journal, brainstorm your own conversation starters! How will you help draw people to Jesus as the Way to Control?

About this Plan

Making Faith Magnetic

Even though they may not realize it, every person you rub shoulders with is trying to scratch an itch. They’re trying to get at the answers to deep questions. Dr. Daniel Strange, in his book, Making Faith Magnetic, has provided insight and practical application into how we can engage five universal questions with truth. Learn how the magnetic points will help us connect the people in our lives to Christ.
