Influence of God's GloryNäide

A New Era of Worship
The temple Solomon constructed was a magnificent structure to be used by God’s people for worship and restoration. Solomon had given great thought to each area and the people had given their time and their talents to construct it for the Lord’s glory. Great quantities of gold and precious jewels had been used to make certain that anyone who entered would understand the high value of worship.
Solomon’s dedication of the temple is one of the finest lessons in Scripture about the need we all have for a right relationship with God that requires the genuine work of repentance. The chief purpose of the temple was to house the presence of God so that the people might enter his presence and seek his righteousness for their lives.
1. What wisdom do you think Solomon would want to speak into our moments of worship today?
2. The ark was the “holy seat,” the very presence of God. How did God show his presence to the people that day (5:13–14)? How do we experience God’s presence today?
About this Plan

By the end of this study, we pray that you will know God’s voice better, that you will know when and how he speaks, and feel compelled to obey. As we study Scripture, we will discover that God’s plan cannot be thwarted regardless of who is in power. The point of the original monarchy found in 1 and 2 Samuel, illustrates that from the beginning.
