Sermon on the MountNäide

The Law Redefined
Jesus said he did not come to “abolish” the law, but to fulfill it. In many ways the New Covenant held higher standards for the Christian life. Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, explained what God’s standards would be for his children so they could live as witnesses for the Lord. God had often told his people, “Be holy for I am holy,” and that message has never changed.
- What is the difference between being “religious” and “faithful?" (verses 17–20)
- What standard does Jesus set for those who would be his disciples? (verses 43–48)
