Year of the Bible: Part Four of Twelve Näide

God Speaks Truthfully and Performs Consistently.
God forewarns Moses about the Israelites' disobedience and how they will break the covenant and fall into idolatry. God showed His faithfulness to his people by giving them Joshua as the next leader of His people.
The reality is that our natural inclination towards self-rule is not a surprise to God. While declaring to Israel their future rebellion, God reaffirmed his faithfulness by providing a leader of integrity. He encouraged Joshua to be strong, courageous, and careful to trust Him.
Self-rule has dire consequences. As with Adam, it separates humankind from God, but God's plan for the restoration of broken relationships continues forward.
Question: What stands out to you when you read this passage? Do you see the truthfulness of God's words? Can you see the kindness of God toward the Israelites in giving them a leader like Joshua?
Prayer Focus: Give thanks aloud for God's pursuit of you based on His tender kindness.
