Walking Through a Spiritual DroughtSample
Pray
In a season of spiritual drought, prayer is a major tool for growth. Do you feel like you are not in the mood to pray? That’s your flesh talking. Do not listen to your flesh; rather, listen to the Spirit. You might be saying, “it’s too hard!!” or “I don’t even know what to pray for. I know it’s hard, especially if you haven’t been down on your knees in the presence of the Lord in a while. Prayer starts by giving thanks to God. Even in your spiritual struggles, it may seem that there is nothing you feel thankful for; that’s Satan feeding you lies. The fact that you are reading this Bible plan, living another day, breathing, that is something to praise God for. My encouragement for you today is don’t give up!! Start praying now. Pray every day, nonstop, and watch how your drought turns into streams of water flowing abundantly. It’s going to take time; it will take work, but be patient even when we don’t see Him or feel Him; God is working amid your praying.
Matthew 6:9-13
This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind. Be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Proverbs 18:21
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray Continually.
Prayer:
Father, I repent of my sins. Thank you for being a God of forgiveness and grace, even when I don’t deserve it. Thank you for another breath of life. Your Word says that my tongue (my hands) has the power of life and death. Today, I choose to speak life. My Spirit is thirsty for you, Lord. Please, Jesus, fill your Spirit in my heart. You are welcome here. Make my heart your home. Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice. You are the living God. Thank you for your unfailing love. Today, I declare that I am devoted to you, Jesus. I will train my heart, mind, and soul through prayer, worship, and Scripture. Thank you for never forsaking me, Father. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
