Preparing for Easter: 5 Ways Church Leaders Can Rest and RefocusSample
Prepare for More
Take a moment and reflect on previous Easter services you’ve been a part of. What did God do through you? How did God move in your church community? In what ways does your church look different now than it did last Easter?
Every decision you make, every conversation you have, every person you serve—everything you do for the glory of God is impacting peoples’ lives in profound ways.
And what God has accomplished through you is only the beginning. As long as there is breath in your lungs, there is more for you. There are more people that need to be reached. There are more celebrations waiting to be had. There will also be more problems to solve, and pain to endure—but all of it is creating an eternal weight of glory in you that no one can take away.
Every time you say “yes” to God and choose to minister to someone, you are allowing God to shape you into a person that cannot be deterred by the events going on around you.
So do not give up.
There will be Easters that feel disappointing and others that feel elevating. There will be times when you wonder why you can’t seem to reach everyone, and other times when you’ll be amazed at how God used you.
Even though you might not see the fruit of your efforts today, tomorrow, or even this year—look back on where you started, and choose to stay faithful. God wants to keep partnering with you to impact a world that is in desperate need of hope and healing.
Today, spend some time talking to God about your dreams for Easter. Who do you want to reach? Where do you want to go? Invite Him into your dream and allow Him to shape your plans.
Then, come up with 1-3 action steps you can take this week to start investing in that dream. Maybe it’s a personal habit you need to start, a financial decision you need to make, or a staffing choice that needs to be solved. Whatever it is, make space this week to intentionally prepare your ministry for the more God has for you.
Step out in obedience and then watch in amazement as God faithfully continues the good work He’s already begun in you.
