Our Lord will never leave us or forsake us

Sometimes we feel that our prayers are not reaching God, or maybe that God is not listening. We keep praying for things but are not seeing answers. There are several things that can block our prayers from being heard. The good news is that they can be removed by our recognizing them, bringing them before God, and asking God to help us.

Remember, even if you feel distant and worry God is not hearing you, nothing can separate you from the love of God:

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 13 contains many quick reminders to its readers to act in many ways in showing love to one another, reminding us that Jesus is the same forever, and we don’t have to fear walking through life without Him.

Hebrews 13:5 - Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

This plan will help you learn about things that get in the way of prayer so you can get closer to God. The Bible is the best way to learn about God and it will be our teacher. We suggest you keep a notebook and save the scriptures given to you as your own collection as we go along in this devotional.
