How to maintain a solid marriageSample
Invest in treating your partner right
The way you treat your partner on a day-to-day basis determines the long-term state of your marriage.
We hear the phrase, "Treat others as you want to be treated," but we don’t put it into practice and do the opposite. To listen and practice what God speaks to us is to be obedient and subject to His Word. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
The letter of 1st Peter, chapter 3, explains that women should be treated as a fragile vessel. This affirmation leads us to ask ourselves a question: How do you handle a fragile vessel? You don’t put it where you know it will break; you treat it with delicacy and with great care. In the same way, a husband should treat his wife delicately, for she can be easily hurt. The attention paid to her determines the way she will react. She has a nature of fragility and sensitivity.
Men should not be rough with their wives. However, we must keep in mind that men by nature are dry and indelicate and react, in certain situations, in a way that is different than their wives would. In this learning process, we must understand that each partner has a particular way of overcoming obstacles.
Learn God's model in marriage, where the wife respects her husband and the husband loves his wife so that their relationship works with the guidance of Christ. A husband honored by his wife knows that he will conquer the world and be functional and productive in life. Otherwise, by not being thoughtful on every occasion, he will fail. Your husband requires respect to strengthen his character and be victorious.
