Pure Decisions Create Pure PowerSample

Be led by the Spirit. 

If the Word is deep in our hearts and we choose to live according to the Holy Spirit's conviction, He will empower us from falling into what feels good to our flesh. 

The enemy is after nothing more than to steal your dreams, kill your joy, and destroy your life, but Jesus came so we may have life and have it to the full. Life to the full is one living in power through making pure decisions.

David, in Psalm 51, after committing adultery and murder, two massively impure actions, is asking for a pure heart and renewed Spirit. After this act, he knew he had removed and tainted the value of his life through this impure act and that God would restore his salvation. How quickly we can lose the joy of our salvation. It is a gift. It is free, but like any gift, the moment you treat that gift with complacency is the moment you remove the value from that gift. 

What gifts have we been complacent and let lose value? A relationship, work, our relationship with God. How can you start to implement pure intentions back in after repenting (turning from complacency) and seeing the joy come back?

I can't hope to encourage you in purity if I am not pursuing it. I want you to know this comes from a profound conviction as the impurity I struggled with was pornography. Pornography has become a real pandemic in our culture where it's said 8 out of 10 men struggle and view it regularly. It leads to objectifying women, not knowing how to date or have healthy relationships, shame, guilt, and the bondage it creates is devastating.

Praise God He has set me free as He allows everyone to choose to be free if we want to receive it. We must actively choose each day to follow Him, restoring the joy of our salvation. It is not a one-time raise your hand ticket to a perfect life. Salvation is a gift we need to treasure, honor and respect by living a life worthy of our unique call. 

Lord, Thank you that you have set me free from __________. I thank you today for creating in me a pure heart and restoring to me the joy of your salvation that I can operate in the full power of your Holy Spirit. Let my life be a testimony of your goodness and faithfulness that everyone I encounter may know you can break any chain and restore even the most broken of lives. In Jesus' name, Amen!
