A Life in ChristSample
LIVE WITH CONSIDERATION
Proverbs 19:1-11
"Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, and he sins who hastens with his feet" (Proverbs 19:2)
Our daily lives are filled with choices. It starts from a very simple choice, for example, whether or not we want to have a quiet time, whether or not we want to take a shower, whether or not we will have breakfast, what clothes to wear, what food to eat, to the choices about the future of our lives, such as whether or not we will continue maintaining our bad habits, whether or not we will leave a ministry, whom to marry, etc. We have to think carefully about those choices so that we will not make a wrong decision.
A red wolf is an animal that has almost the same abilities as a human. The red wolf has the intelligence and smart behaviour to choose the right target. It rarely fails to get the target. Before doing something, the wolf will make a precise calculation to determine if it can tackle the target with one attack or need help from other wolves.
How about us? Sometimes we don’t consider our options well. There are also choices that we make without prior consideration. As a result, we regret making that decision. With renewed zeal, let's study the character of Christ thoughtfully so that we become like Christ.
Reflection:
1. Are you like the red wolf that can pick the right target and rarely fail to get it? Or are you the other way around?
2. How often do you consider each choice or decision you make? Do you seek advice from others, or do you make your own decisions?
Application:
Let's learn to recognize and avoid words, actions, and attitudes that lead to unintended consequences.
