That Doesn’t Just Happen
As we’ve evaluated the story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, there’s a vital lesson in excellence that should be noted: a God-given spirit of excellence doesn’t just happen.
I’m sure, when Solomon first became king, there were many hard-earned lessons in excellence along the way. But that’s the thing about excellence. It’s not about perfection. It’s about doing the best with what you’ve been given.
What we learned from King Solomon is that he had excellence in his culture, wisdom, details, presentation, organization, and heart. Those are key ingredients to embracing the spirit of excellence in your life. But how did he get those things? He learned to rely on the One who is the creator of excellence and exemplifies excellence in everything He does: God.
As a result of Solomon's excellence, the Queen of Sheba was not only overwhelmed, but she praised God! How incredible! A spirit of excellence reveals the glory of God!
My encouragement for you is to pinpoint where you are. Have you fully embraced the spirit of excellence in your life? Are there areas in your life that you need the Holy Spirit to breathe into and give you wisdom in? Ask him. Invite Him into every area of your life. When you do, excellence is sure to follow.
