OUR GOD IS LOVE PERSONIFIED

Four of the most profound words in the entire Bible are found in today’s passage - Beloved…. God is Love. 

I love that God introduces Jesus after He is baptised and before he has done any ministry- as “My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.“ 

Now we are addressed in the same way. Beloved. 

In our fast-paced, performance-oriented lives we are invited to simply “be-loved” by the One who IS love. You are his loved one – the object of His affection.

Love is not just what God does, it’s who He is. 

Love is not just some cosmic force or romantic notion. Love is a person and His name is Jesus. The source and essence of Love – His very being, now alive in us continually through His Holy Spirit – IS love. What a profound thought!

His love is perfected and expressed in us! Not just in what we do, but in who we are. We are not human doings, but human beings- becoming His love to the world. He is activating and emanating His love for others through us. Who you are is now God’s love letter to the world. Just being yourself, abiding in Him daily IS love.

Thank you, Lord that you are living love in my very being. Help me to live being loved and being love to someone today.
