Let Your Light ShineSample
Salty Popcorn And The Projector Light
Have you ever bought a box of popcorn at the theatre and it’s evident it’s not fresh? After putting the first handful into your mouth you find it stale with no buttery taste and all the salt has settled to the bottom. It’s less than satisfying and takes some of the joy out of the movie-viewing experience.
Another problem is watching a film in an older theatre and the projection comes through a wall that can be blocked by someone standing up, which is made worse by the person who is unaware of this issue and continues to get up during a screening.
These things draw attention to the teaching of Jesus. He reminds us that we’re meant to be salt and light in this world. Salt is ineffective while in the shaker. We need to be out in society and live out our faith amongst people. And light is most effective when allowed to shine. Christians must be in the mix of modern life to influence their surroundings and not get in the way of God’s true light.
Your words can draw people to the message of the Bible and your life can be a shining light for the message of Jesus. Get out into your community, live as Christ would and, when given the opportunity, speak His words to all who will listen.
Lights, Salt… Action. Does your life reflect your faith in Christ? Are your words ‘salty’ enough to make people interested in hearing more about your faith in Jesus?

About this Plan
God calls us to shine our light in a world that’s full of darkness. As we live out each day, our lives need to shine to bring attention to the Saviour King who will bring healing, restoration, unity, peace and hope to a world desperate for it. They just need us to light the way.
