Be Still and Know

Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.- Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

I know!

I got it!

These are the phrases that I constantly hear from my boys when I try to teach them about not making the same mistakes I made. I know they are willing to learn, but they want me to believe that they "know" already. 

Just like my boys, these are the same responses we give God when He tries to keep us from falling into the devil's trap. In many instances, we allow our intellect to be greater than God's sovereignty. We forget that while we may know some things, God is all-knowing.  More than that, He's the creator of all things, and our understanding of all things- is actually limited!

It's necessary to learn to be still and know that God is still God.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you that You are God and You know all things. Even when I feel like I have it all together, You quietly guide me on the right path. Show me how to trust You in every decision of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
