Caller ID
I love the start of Proverbs 8 because it begins with a question. The author is getting you to think. I know…sometimes it hurts our brains to think about God, but we need to.
So, here is the first question from Proverbs 8 – “Does not wisdom call out?” What does that mean, right?!? Wouldn’t it be great if Godly wisdom came up on your caller ID? Would you pick it up right now or block the call?
Do you think wisdom calls you when you are in a tough spot or when someone is asking you a question? And, where does your wisdom come from? God? Friends? Books? Internet?
Right now, look at your phone’s history. How much time do you spend on your phone? What do you search most on your phone? What games do you play? Who do you call the most? Who do you text the most and about what? What kind of apps do you have? What other social media do you use on your phone?
What did you learn about yourself when you looked at your phone?
Is Godly wisdom coming from your phone?
In today’s society, we do have to ask ourselves if we’re listening to Godly wisdom or simply just the noise on our phones. I know it is a lot to think about, but challenge yourself today and ask yourself: Do my searches, texts, calls, and content reflect Godly wisdom? Or am I just following the noise of this world?
