REFLECTION OF CHRIST

One of the many responsibilities we are tasked with by God upon accepting Christ into our hearts is to live a life that is reflective of who Christ is. The challenge we face with taking on this responsibility is the challenge of living in a world full of negative distractions and temptations that come at us almost every minute of every day. How are we supposed to reflect Christ in our lives when we are faced daily with so much negativity and temptation? Let us look to two men of the Bible for this answer: Joseph and Daniel.
Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt and faced unfathomable harsh conditions daily. Yet, despite where he found himself, he continued to walk out and live a life that reflected Christ in such a way that it had even the Pharaoh of Egypt taking notice that the Spirit of God was alive in Joseph. Daniel was taken captive and a prisoner of war in Babylon, but still stood before King Nebuchadnezzar in such a way that again another powerful king took notice that the Spirit of God was in Daniel reflecting His light, understanding, and wisdom.
Joseph and Daniel show us that as long as we choose to live in a Christ-like manner giving others the same love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness that He gave us then others will begin to take notice as well. Think of ways you can reflect Christ in your attitude and in how you use your words. Think about actions that you can do that will show people that the Spirit of God is alive in you.
If you are a list person like me, then write down some of these ways and carry it with you throughout the day as a reminder if you find yourself in a less than desirable situation. Remember that being a reflection of Christ not only blesses others, but it will also bless you as well because God rewards good works.
