5 Powerful Prayers to Transform School CommunitiesSample
God Leads
What animal comes to mind when you hear the word follow? The wooly animals I am thinking of are said to follow each other off of a cliff. But not every sheep fits this description. A rare breed on an isolated island just south of the Arctic Circle tells a different story. Icelandic Leadersheep possess the ability and instinct to lead their flocks home during difficult weather conditions. Their unique alertness as they watch for danger and guard against predators makes this rare breed invaluable. Many stories are told about these horned animals actually saving their owners’ lives during a blizzard. We may not need to be led through a snowstorm, but we do need a trustworthy leader to successfully navigate our lives. God is the leader that every teacher, principal, administrator, student, and parent can trust to guide them through the struggles and victories of life.
Today, as we pray powerful prayers to transform school communities we ask for teachers, principals, and superintendents to follow God’s leading in order to develop the next generation of leaders.
Let’s pray today, praising our God who leads us and for hearts to follow God’s leading.
Praise God, Who Leads Us!
“He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:2
God, we give You praise as the One who faithfully leads, offering guidance in our decisions, work, and relationships. Give us hearts to follow and to obey as You lead us beside still waters and restore our souls.
Pray for Hearts to Follow God’s Leading
“Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12
God, we pray that teachers, principals, and superintendents would follow Your leading as You bring light to each situation they encounter today.
Pray for Hearts that Lead
“Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray.” I John 3:7
Lord, we ask that You would place trustworthy leaders in the lives of our students, removing those who would desire to lead them astray. May these leaders be people of integrity and strong faith who develop them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. As the children grow, may they rise up to become wise leaders of the next generation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
