DAY 48 OF 63

God Keeps His Promises

A faithful person is someone we consider trustworthy and whom we have confidence in. When we sit down on a chair, we have faith that it will hold our weight and that we will not fall through it onto the floor. Believers everywhere rejoice in all they have learned about God and His faithfulness. Each person who follows Jesus has a personal story and testimony to tell of the times He has provided (even if this is not in the ways we always expect!) God is not only loving, omnipotent, and all-knowing, He is faithful!

God is trustworthy. He will never let us down.  He is faithful to us when we are tempted (1 Corinthians 10:13), when we sin (1 John 1:9), suffer (1 Peter 4:19) and are weak (2 Thessalonians 3:3) and when we need help for the ministry He has given us (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Do you believe this? Do you really trust Him? Do you believe that He will look after you and your needs? God is faithful to His Word, the Bible. His promises are trustworthy. He always does what He says and He always keeps the promises He has made in His word because, by His very nature, not only will He not deny Himself, He cannot deny himself (2 Timothy 2:13).

Our verse today reminds us that when we confess our sin, we are cleansed and made righteous with God through Jesus. Simply put, Jesus’ one sacrifice was sufficient to completely remove all our sin for all time, in a New Covenant.

We live, pray and serve on the basis of God’s promises. As God’s children, we should desire to reflect His faithfulness. Therefore, we should be trustworthy in our relationships and always keep our promises as people of integrity as we serve God in His plan. The best is always yet to come for those who follow Jesus. We look forward to the day when we hear Him say to us, “Well done good and faithful servant… come and share your master’s happiness!” (Matthew 25:23)

About this Plan

Fruit Bowl

Fruit Bowl is a 9-week deep dive into the Fruit of the Spirit put together by the Naujavan community. Jesus said, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit is the result of spending quality time with God, allowing Him to shape and form us.” We hope this devotional encourages you to do just that.
