Tips on Raising the Children God Has Given You

DAY 3 OF 5

Do your children know Jesus? If not, there are three things they need to know and only one thing they need to do.

Three Things They Need to Know

1. God loves us.

  • “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” (John 3:16, AMPC)

2. Sin (rebellion toward God) entered into mankind through Adam and Eve and therefore caused a separation between all of us and the God who made us.

  • The fall of man. Genesis 3:1-6.
  • Romans 3:23 (AMPC) says, “All have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory, which God bestows and receives.”

3. Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for our sin and way to a relationship with God.

  • The person of the Lord Jesus Christ is God, the Son: “And immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed Jesus, saying, He is the Son of God!” (Acts 9:20, AMPC).
  • The work of the Lord Jesus Christ is that He willingly died on the cross, shedding His blood as payment for our sin. He came back to life again and lives forevermore (see 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
  • “Jesus said to him I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me” (John 14:6, AMPC).

One Thing They Need to Do

Receive Jesus Christ as Savior.

  • Call on God in prayer, receiving Him by faith: “I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely] and will find pasture” (John 10:9, AMPC).

About this Plan

Tips on Raising the Children God Has Given You

We moms are told that what we do isn’t important. We sometimes feel like failures—weary, worn-out, frustrated, unfulfilled, guilty, ashamed, jaded, exasperated, inadequate, and incapable. We start to believe that we’re just bad moms. I hope my journey, the adventure of being the mom to two extremely creative men, will inspire you. Here you will be encouraged as you raise dreamers of your own.
