Who You Say I Am - Part 1Sample
Long before David became king, he was just a shepherd boy. To everyone else David may not have looked like he would be king material. He was the youngest of eight brothers and he was out tending to the sheep when the prophet Samuel came to anoint a future king. When Samuel was looking at David's brothers, God said to him, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
God chose David to be king. He didn't look like the obvious choice from the outside but God looks at the heart. God knows who you are inside and out, He knows the good and the bad. No matter what, He STILL chose you! God has a wonderful plan and purpose for your life and He has chosen YOU for that purpose. He hasn't chosen someone else for your purpose, He has chosen you!
People often just look at what's on the outside, well that's the part we see first after all! We all tend to make choices about others based on what we see, but David's story reminds us that God looks at the heart. What's on the inside is more important to God, and it should be more important to us!
