Faithful or Fake?
Have you ever been an imposter? An imposter is a person who pretends to be someone else, especially for the purpose of personal gain. Maybe you have pretended to be someone else to impress that guy or girl you like. Maybe you were trying to make the team, but to do that, you felt like you had to impress the coach by making another player look bad. Maybe you tried to get a job, and on your application, you made stuff up to make yourself look good.
If you did anything like that, guess what? You were an imposter. We’ve all seen imposters, and if I were to guess, we have all been imposters at one point or another. During this study, we are going to be answering one question:
Are we faithful, or are we fake? To answer that question, we’re going to look at four key themes that expose imposters of the faith. But before we move on, I have to ask something of you: this study isn’t about others, but to see if we are living as imposters of the faith! So let’s pray and ask God to help us through this study as we learn what would make us imposters of the faith.
Father in Heaven, thank you for this opportunity to study your Word. We pray that you will guide us to always be faithful to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
