Warning! Deadly Vipers: Avoiding Dangerous FriendshipsSample
Have you ever had a friend who always made bad decisions and got in trouble a lot? Did that friend ever get you to do something you knew was wrong but you did it anyway? If we are honest we typically start to act like the people we spend the most time with. If your friend tends to like a certain movie, then we tend to also like it. It can be easy to have a friend influence who we are and what we do. This is a good thing when we choose to have friends who follow Jesus and who influence us for the better but what happens when we’re friends with someone who isn’t a good influence? It’s so important to choose our friends wisely and make sure that a friend’s poor choices don’t rub off on us.
Challenge: Today we challenge you to evaluate your closest friends and be sure they influence you to make Godly choices. If you have any friends who are bad influences, we challenge you to spend less time with them. You may even have to end a friendship if your friends are toxic to you and your relationship with God.

About this Plan
It can be hard to tell the difference between good friendships and unhealthy ones. True friends positively encourage us and stand by our side through life’s ups and downs. Unhealthy friendships can negatively influence us and can cause us untold hurt in the process. This month, we’ll talk about how to navigate friendships and recognize the differences between good ones and poisonous ones.
