Getting Ready-21 Days of Prayer

DAY 6 OF 21

Nothing is more frustrating than a problem that can’t be solved. I am the type of person who is tenacious and dedicated to seeing things through. It’s a huge value of mine. I once got a birthday gift from a friend of mine that was a 500 piece, all white puzzle! Are you kidding me? I worked and worked at trying to put the tiny all white puzzle pieces together to keep my perfect puzzle streak alive. But it was impossible and I had to quit. I know it was just a puzzle, but it drove me crazy.

We have had challenges in our lives that are far more important than solving a silly puzzle. This past year we’ve wrestled with a pandemic, racial tensions, political division, and more that changed our lives in so many ways. These challenges and more are beyond our individual abilities to find a solution in and of ourselves.

In the beginning, not long after God created Adam and Eve, sin entered the world. Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This is a problem that is beyond our human capacity to solve. We have all sinned. We cannot solve the sin problem. But there is good news today! Jesus, who existed from the very beginning, became human and made his home among us. Why? So he could share his unfailing love and faithfulness with us. Jesus moved into the neighborhood, becoming like us and ultimately paving the way for us through his death on the cross.  We no longer have a sin problem that can’t be solved. We have a risen savior who is worthy of our praise. And He is for you!

Challenge: Remember this week that when you fall short, you have a God who is for you, not against you. Ask for his forgiveness and move on.

Prayer Prompt: Take a minute to thank Jesus for loving you so much that He came to you to remove the power of sin in your life once and for all.

About this Plan

Getting Ready-21 Days of Prayer

Getting Ready is a 21-day prayer journey for you to get ready for all that God has for you in 2021. Revelation 19 talks about the wedding of the Lamb and that our God is coming. We want to prepare our hearts for His return and to live with urgency.
