Love as the Key to Racial ReconciliationSample
Examine Yourself
This can be tough. What’s in your heart? What’s in your mind? Is it pure? Do you have a heart after Christ? Do you love all of your neighbors? Do you have any biases?
In examining your heart, have you discovered something not pure? If so, you are human. The solution is to repent of sin, ask for forgiveness, and move on with your newly changed heart and mind. With that renewing of your mind, you can find peace.
Before you can plant the seed, the soil must be fertile. After you plant the seed of wanting to do more, and being ready to love (including wanting reconciliation), then you water it by listening and learning.
Then and only then can true growth, reflection, and change take place. Then and only then can you get to a place where your love for everyone can truly be displayed!
After all, what you water will grow and flourish.
About this Plan
The tragic death of George Floyd sparked discussions about why are we still talking about race and racial injustice in 2020. In hope of finding a solution, and common ground after his death, many people raised this question, “What can I do?” This devotional will explain what you can do, and help you to prepare your heart and mind for love and, ultimately, racial reconciliation.
