There is wonder-working power in the blood of the Lamb. Blood flows through the Bible even as it flows through our veins. If you cut the Bible, it will bleed; it is a bloody book. Blood is mentioned over three hundred times in the Old Testament and forty-three times in the New Testament. 

We know from our school books that our body is composed of five to seven percent blood. Blood has seven functions in the body: it receives our waste like a trash can; it transfers oxygen throughout the body; it transports nutrients; it releases hormones; it maintains fluid balance; it circulates heat, and it fights microorganisms. God said, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11). Even as physical blood in our body has many functions so does the blood of Jesus have power. 

We can see that the blood of Jesus has power. Your body uses white blood cells to fight the bacteria and viruses that invade you and make you sick. The blood in your body is a weapon against all sorts of enemies. 

And the same thing is said of the blood of Jesus. We overcome the devil through the blood. Just as our blood fights viruses and bacteria, the blood of Jesus overcomes demons, the devil, and spiritual darkness. 

This was beautifully portrayed when the people of Israel were getting ready to exit Egypt. They applied the blood of a lamb on the doorposts of their houses, and that night the death angel passed over their homes. Through the blood of an innocent lamb, they experienced the Passover. That was the night their ultimate deliverance became a reality. The nine plagues that brought tragic calamity for the Egyptians did not bring deliverance to the Jews, but this one act of shedding blood broke the grip of their enemy once and for all. 

There is power in the blood. Believe in this. Declare the blood of Jesus over the entrance to your house, your family, your property, your neighborhood, your community, your place of employment, etc.  Through your confession apply the blood of Jesus over the doorposts of your heart, mind, and soul.
