5 Ways to Live Outside the Enemy's GraspSample
Key 1: Be Ruled by the Word of God
The first key that will keep you out of the grasp of the enemy is to be ruled by the Word. The Word of God—the Bible—is our final authority. Make the Word of God your rule and your authority, and live in obedience to all it says.
We teach this every week at the church I pastor—Dwelling Place Church International. We teach that, if you're not under the authority of the Word, then you're out from under any spiritual covering or safety at all. The Word is our final authority, our starting authority, and every authority in between.
It doesn't matter how elementary your life situation may be; always run to the Word for answers.
Run to what "Thus says the Lord," because His instruction is steadfast. It will never fail you! And as our final authority, the Word will keep you walking on a straight path. It will guard you from all manner of temptation.
When I do premarital counseling, I always teach future brides and grooms to keep the Word in the middle of your marriage relationship. If you keep God in the center of your life and your everyday living, then every foul word, any obstacle, anything that comes up, goes through the filter of God’s Word first. If God is in the middle of your relationship, you automatically start changing the way you think and act to align with the Bible.
This key is short, but foundational to everything:
Keep the Word in the middle of your life, and in the center of everything that you do. Let every aspect of your life be based upon and filtered through the reality of this Word. It is God's Word that converts your soul and keeps you from sinning against the Lord.

About this Plan
One of the greatest promises in Scripture is that we can submit to God, resist the devil, and the devil will flee from us. However, there are prerequisites and conditions to this promise. In this Bible Plan, Pastor Jamie Tuttle shares exactly what those conditions are—and how you can position yourself in a place of total safety from the enemy’s attacks.
