Jesus Knows How You FeelSample
Jesus Knows What It Feels Like to Be LOVED
Jesus knows what it feels like to be tired, betrayed, sad, and misunderstood. Even though He is God, He chose to not only go through hard things but to also experience the emotions that go with them. So when we feel similar things, we can trust that Jesus has been there too. Jesus lived on this earth as a human, just like you and me, so He gets what we’re going through.
Something else He knows? Jesus knows what it feels like to be loved by His heavenly Father.
You might be thinking, “Of course, God loves Jesus. Look at all the amazing things Jesus did while He was on earth.”
And yes, Jesus did some incredible things. He healed people who had terrible diseases, He gave sight to blind people, and He even raised people from the dead.
But that’s not why God loves Him. God does not love Jesus because of the good things He did.
Before Jesus ever performed a single miracle, a crowd gathered by the Jordan River and heard God speak these words to Jesus:
“You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
When God spoke, Jesus hadn’t done anything spectacular yet. Not one thing. He was born in a stable. He grew up in a poor family. He learned a trade from his earthly dad.
Jesus didn’t have to do anything to be loved. He was God’s Son. That’s all that mattered.
You don’t have to do anything to be loved by God either. He loves you because He created you.
God doesn’t love you because you are an A student or because you’re a star athlete. He doesn’t love you more when you are nice to your little brother or when you go to church. And He doesn’t love you any less when you make a mistake or mess up or make a bad choice.
God loves you. Period. That’s it.
He loves you just like He loves Jesus. Simply because.
