YOU BELONG TO HIM

I recently had one of “those days.” You know, those days when you’d rather go back to bed, pull the covers over your head, and just stay there. I bet you’ve had a day or two like that! 

On those days, when I feel sad, I choose to talk to God. I choose to talk to Him because He is always available, always there for me, even when I feel alone. And when I talk to Him, I try to remember things I know to be true, like how much He loves me, that I belong to Him, and that He will never leave me. 

Whether today my feelings tell me that I am loved and Jesus is with me or whether they lie and tell me I’m on my own and alone, my feelings can never change the truth. Jesus hasn’t left me, even when I sometimes can’t feel Him. Ephesians 2:13 tells me that even though I may feel a certain way, because Jesus died for me, He is near to me . . . always. His forgiveness for my sins makes that possible. 

So on the hard days, when my emotions try to push me down, I can choose to remind my heart of the truth—I belong to Jesus and nothing can change that. 

Especially not the way I feel. 

LIVING CHERISHED 

You belong to Jesus no matter how you feel. If you are feeling sad today, tell Jesus what is happening in your heart and how you need Him to come and help you right now. If you are feeling happy, then thank Him! Write your prayer below. 

TALKING TO GOD 

God, thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins so that I can be near You. Because You forgive me for my sin, nothing can push me away from You, not even my pushy feelings. In Jesus’ name, amen.
