Great Adventurers (Week 2) Sample
Day Six - Listen and Follow
Welcome to our Great Adventurers Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey and look at some of the Great Adventurers in the Bible.
Let's continue our adventure with Joshua and ‘The Battle of Jericho’.
READ:
‘The Battle of Jericho’ in the Beginner's Bible (pages 132-135) or in Joshua 6:1-20.
Once the Walls of Jericho had fallen down, the Israelite army rushed into the city and took it over. They made it their home.
After following and listening to all that God said, the Israelites had a new home! “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!”
The Israelites had journeyed a long way with God and after many, many years of not having a home, God provided them with somewhere to settle!
When we listen to God and follow all that He tells us, God blesses us with a wonderful life!
ASK:
When we are waiting for something it can feel like a long time . Can you think of a time when you waited for something and then all of a sudden it was here?
Think of a way to say thank you to God for giving us all the wonderful things He provides. Maybe you could sing a song, write a poem, draw a picture, or write a postcard.
REMEMBER:
‘Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!”’ (Matthew 19:26)
SAY:
I'm an adventurer. I am bold. I am strong. With the word of the Lord, I will follow. Wherever you lead, I won't stop. I've been set free! Amen!

About this Plan
In the Bible, we see that through ‘Great Adventurers’ God has changed the world around them for good. God can take the seemingly bad things and turn them for good. We will follow in the footsteps of these ‘Great Adventurers’ and see how God, through their boldness, changed the world around them! This week we’re looking at the story of Joshua and our memory verse in Matthew 19:26.
