A Kid's Guide To LukeSample
How Can I Be A Good Christian?
Being a “good Christian” isn’t about following a long list of rules. It’s really about loving God more than anything else and putting others before yourself (Luke 10:25-28).
When you love God the most, other things will start to fall into place. Because you love Him, you’ll obey Him and do what He wants you to do because you understand He only wants the best for you. You’ll love other people more, too, which will help you be kind to them and forgive them (Ephesians 4:32).
As you spend time with God and talk to Him, you will find that it’s easier to treat others kindly and be humble, patient, and forgiving, which is what God wants for us (Colossians 3:12-14). The more you get to know God, the more you’ll grow to love Him… and the more His love will grow in you.
If you have put your trust in Jesus, His Holy Spirit is there inside of you! He will lead you in the direction you should go—whether it’s a big decision or just an everyday opportunity to show love. As you get to know Him more, you’ll start to see that it’s not just that the Holy Spirit inspires you to love, but that it’s His love expressing itself through you! Read that again. God gets the glory, plus, you get the amazing blessing of being tuned in to His heart.
