Day 10 – Everyone, Everywhere
Reflect
As Peter stood to speak to the group gathered in Cornelius's home, he revealed that he had learned something and that he also assumed something. Verses 36-38, Peter used the phrase "you know …" Peter was aware that the news of Jesus had already reached Caesarea, most probably through the ranks of the Roman soldiers who had witnessed the events of Jesus' life and crucifixion. Also, Philip the evangelist made his home there (Acts 8:40, Acts 21:8) but apparently only preached to the Jews and Jewish converts. Peter knew they knew about Jesus. What Peter and the group assembled were about to understand was that Jesus knew about them, and that Peter had been specifically brought there to bring the news of salvation to them.
Respond
Lord, when it comes to your offer of salvation through Jesus Christ, the invitation is extended to the whole world - everyone, everywhere. Expand my heart and mind and help me to experience the love that you have for all people.
