Roaring Twenties FastNäide

Consumed by Hunger for the More of God
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." (Matthew 5:6)
Ten years ago I was ready to quit everything. My seminary education, my ministry, and more. I felt like there should be more to God than facts and stories. I was tired of going through the motions of ministry. I was spiritually shallow and dry.
During that time the Lord was gracious to me and spoke to me clearly one day and said inwardly "if you want me, then come and get me." He called me to fast forty days. My desperation met a reservoir of presence. I was overwhelmed by the face of God and sorrowful of being content for the longest time to only want the hand of God.
When should you fast? When you desperate for more of God. When you need a breakthrough in your life, family, and ministry. When you are ready to go beyond simply knowing God and are ready for a fifth gear, full throttle experience of divinity.
''Prayer has great power, but fasting with prayer has infinitely more power.'' –Bill Bright
Prayer:
Lord, release a new found spirit of desperation and hunger in my life like I have never known before in the roaring twenties.
