[Psalms] Joyful Dreamer

DAY 3 OF 7

What are you dreaming about?

As you get older, you laugh less; life gets more serious, more stressful. When you are 12 or 13, you laugh all the time. Things always seem funny. But when you get to be 42, 52, and so on, life is not as funny as it once was. We laugh less. We begin to say things like, “Let’s do something fun tonight.”

When you are a teenager fun just hits you. Fun is where you are. It is a party wherever you go.

What happens to adults is we become serious and we begin to lack joy. Is that not peculiar? We have money to do things, we know who we are, we know what we do, and we understand all of these things. There is a lot of security in our lives, but we are lacking joy because we have lost the ability to dream as adults.

We should dream bigger now that we have greater security and a better understanding of who we are, what our gifts are, where we have been placed, and what we are to do.

Living light because we are trusting deep. Fulfilling God’s plan. There is a deep joy we can experience when we say, “God, I will stop trying to talk You into being a part of my plan. I want to be a part of Your plan.” The Gospel sets us free from the captivity of our pride—of what we want—and we are able to be people who dream God’s dreams.

I was at a board meeting when the person leading it began by saying, “If God answered every one of the prayers you’re praying, what would happen?” That question really convicted my heart of this: I am not praying specifically enough in my life. I am praying ambiguously. It also showed me what my dreams are. What am I really dreaming for God to do?

So, if God answered every prayer that you have prayed, what would happen? Whose lives would be changed?

God wants to use you in a great way. He has a dream for you. It might be to start an organization, club, or event; or maybe it’s just to introduce you to one person that you are going to minister to and love on. A new way of living which you have never experienced before. Once you are free, God will move forward with His dream for you.

About this Plan

[Psalms] Joyful Dreamer

God can do amazing, incredible things in your life. His dreams have to become our dreams. Psalm 126 says that when the people of God knew they were free, they were filled with laughter and joy. The greatest joy and laughter you can experience is when you get to be a part of God’s dreams. Keep dreaming of what God can do.
