Who’s Culture Do We Have?     

Because so many parts of the normal Christian culture are rarely challenged, we often make many assumptions on what is important and what is not. Most of us see through our own history, good or bad. It takes the renewing of the mind to see correctly. 

I don’t like the rebellious approach that implies everything is wrong and we need to question everything. But we often have “sacred cows” that we don’t want anyone to touch. Those cows are our favorite imperfections that the Church sometimes wants to protect at all costs. Most of us have enough things in our thinking that we need to change that I doubt we could handle it if God were to show us our need all at once. For me, it comes down to having absolute trust in Him in the journey. And that is a lot easier to do when I come completely abandoned and surrendered to His purposes, with no hidden agendas of my own. This really is the only way to come to the Lord of all, yielding to His Lordship.

Ask the Holy Spirit if your life is completely surrendered right now? Take time to reflect and search your heart for any hidden agendas that might be getting in the way of having complete trust in the Lord.
