Seven

DAY 3 OF 3

COMPLETION

God desires to complete you. We will never be perfect; our understanding will never be at full capacity but Jesus desires to live perfect IN US. He completes us.

We talked about our desire to have a child at the beginning of this devotional but what I never mentioned to you is the literally number seven was to represent our fifth child years later. I had it all planned out! It was going to be the best sermon ever! I was going to prepare a baby announcement to our congregation and surprise everyone with a sermon called “Seven” representing God’s completion in my family’s life. He would deliver our fifth child making us a family of literally seven. It was going to be epic, emotional and such a powerful move of God as we announced this completion or “perfection” in our family! God decided, His “seven” was not the same “seven” as ours. Child number five wasn’t in the cards of my wife and I. As bad as we wanted to have another baby, God revealed it wasn’t His will after trying for a long time to bring this “seven” to reality. There came a point where we realized we were trying to force something to happen that simply wasn’t in the will of God. I knew I had to scrap the sermon, as my perfection was incomplete and my plan was tarnished. Months later, God revealed to me that what we had already… Four beautiful children, a nice home, a good life and good health… This was our “seven”.

What I thought needed to be a literal seven to feel complete, God says my “seven” doesn’t always add up to your “seven”. God spoke to me that He indeed perfected his family plan in us just as He intended since the beginning. Upon this revelation, my wife and I found relief and immediately became exceedingly grateful as we had forgotten about the lamp that was before us and had started wondering in the dark on our own.

Some of you may be facing similar situations in your life today. Trust in Jesus in ALL situations. Your “seven” according to the will of God on your life doesn’t need to be literal, it represents God’s perfect plan coming to fruition according to His timing and purpose He has set before you. Light the lamp and walk the path in faith. Much love to you all.

About this Plan

The power of God is strong in my life and I know that I am more than a conqueror until a situation occurs that I don't have an answer to. God feels distant and I'm frustrated by what has happened. My plans have shifted and now I’m confused. Take a journey with Pastor Jeff Gwaltney as he takes a look at how God’s number system works in our lives.
