Toiled All Night

DAY 1 OF 3

Let Down Your Nets

In Luke 5:4, after Jesus had finished teaching the crowds from Simon’s boat, Jesus gave a simple command to this “soon-to-be” disciple, and told Simon to, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets.” Simon was faced with a life-altering decision. He could have ignored Christ’s instruction and stayed stagnant, or Simon could have chosen to obey Christ’s command and launched out into the deep. When God commands you to “launch”, choose to obey His instruction and reap His reward.

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for ‘Launch’ is ‘epanagō’ (G1877) which means: “to lead up upon”. It’s time to lead. When God commands you to launch out, trust God’s Word and go. Your obedience feeds the faith of others. Your acts of faith and obedience strengthen others. It’s time to obey God and launch. Launch where God is leading you. Follow God’s voice, follow His Word, and lead this generation. When Jesus told Simon to “launch into the deep”, essentially what Christ was saying was, “It’s time to lead.” Follow God’s Word and wait for His “Launch”.

Maybe you’ve toiled all night and caught nothing. Maybe you’ve toiled for years and caught nothing. Maybe you’re not progressing as fast as you would like. Maybe you’ve been toiling at that business for some time and it has not produced your desired fruit. Maybe you’ve launched that ministry and it seems like it’s not growing or moving as fast as you would like. Maybe you’ve been toiling in your marriage and its ground seems to be unfruitful. Maybe you’ve been toiling in some other area and it seems as if you’re not making much progress. Choose to wait for God’s release.

Choose to launch when God tells you to do so. When you are led by His voice, you will not go astray. His launch has purpose. His timing is strategic. Align your will with His Word. A premature launch can cause you to veer off course, placing you and your family under unnecessary strain, struggle, and duress. Choose not to toil. Follow God’s instruction and reap His harvest.

Day 2

About this Plan

Toiled All Night

Vance K. Jackson leads men in this life transforming devotional. It’s time to launch into the deep. Maybe you’ve been toiling all night and you have not received the results that you were expecting. Like Simon, maybe that business isn’t going as planned. Choose to launch when God speaks. His Word carries more weight and authority than your timing and skill. His timing is perfect. Choose to launch with Christ.
