Fall Forward: A Journey Of Struggle, Strength And True ForgivenessSample
Finding Help To Heal The Hurt
When life knocks you down…fall forward.
Are you hurting? The Bible tells us that even the very hairs of our head are all numbered. Surely, a God who knows the numbers of hair on our heads cares for us. He wants us to talk to Him. He wants us to talk to Him about anything. He wants us to talk to Him without ceasing. Practically, this cannot be literal, but we should pray often to God. He wants more than anything to have a relationship with us. He gave us free will, so our choosing a relationship with Him means talking with Him on a regular basis. He wants us to routinely ask for His wisdom. He wants us to routinely read His Word so that He can most easily speak to us. He gave us sixty-six books of the Bible. He will speak to us every time we read it, if we open our hearts to Him.
Are you hurting? Friends can go a long way in helping you carry the load. Not every friend is great on every occasion. Work friends, high school or college friends, or neighbors may not always be the best source of supportive prayer. Church friends, Christian friends, however are wonderful means of support during difficult times. Do you need a church home? Do you need to be in a small group at church in order to share your need for supportive prayer? Do you need a Christian counselor or someone who can devote designated time listening and praying?
If you are not hurting, do you need to be someone’s supportive prayer partner through a difficult time? Years ago, a lady was in her front yard on a Tuesday morning when she became a victim of a violent crime. Her friend was a prayer warrior. The pray warrior not only lifted her in prayer, but asked our church to lift her in prayer.
Do you know someone who has been a victim of violence?
Do you know someone who has experienced loss?
Lift them in prayer and ask God to draw them to Him. God cares for us. Whether you are hurting or know someone who is hurting, prayer is the answer.
