Coping With Dwindling FinancesSample
You pinch every penny. Before payday, you think of all the extra money you’ll finally have to pay off bills and invest in your savings account. But it seems like the minute the money hits your account, it disappears without a trace.
And that’s when your mind starts reeling. You panic, worried about how you’ll ever dig yourself out of the black hole of debt.
When it seems like your finances are out of control—when it feels like there’s no way to find a sense of peace—you can turn to the solace of Scripture. God’s Word tells us the Lord will take care of our needs. Even when it seems to us like God doesn’t see our burdens—we discover that he feels our heartaches. He intimately understands our anxieties and worries. And he wants us to bring those worries to him.
PRAY:Lord, I feel stressed by my lack of funds right now; help me to see that you are for me even when life is hard.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by money matters today, pray through this verse from the Psalms:
READ:Psalm 9:10
REFLECT: Has dwindling finances made you feel abandoned? As if God has forsaken you and no one cares? What is your heart cry in this moment?
RESPOND: You may be wondering if you can really trust God at this point in your life. How could you test those waters? How will you respond to the verse from the Psalms?
