7 Habits To Develop Spiritual Growth

DAY 4 OF 7

Why read the Bible when you wake up? (Habit #4)

The alarm clock rings...you pull yourself slowly but surely out of sleep and then open your eyes...You get out of bed, and you’re about to check out one of your cellphone’s apps, surf social media, or...read the Bible!

Which is an excellent choice! 😊

So now you know that today, the question is...what do you read first thing in the morning?

The world’s news or the Kingdom’s news? I’m not saying you shouldn’t keep up-to-date with what’s happening in the world (far from it!), but just don’t forget to ALSO inform yourself, FIRST, about what God is saying.

What does He want to say? What is He feeling? What has He planned in advance? And especially...who is He? All of this is found in His Word. Try to see reading the Bible as a treasure hunt to find the nuggets of wisdom and strength you need each day!

So habit #4 is: “Read the Word of God every day.”

Immerse your gaze in it, as the psalmist says so well:

“Your commandments are my counselors; your word is my light and delight!” Psalm 119:24

and “Your very hands have held me and made me who I am; give me more revelation-light so I may learn to please you more.” (Psalm 119:73)

Nothing is worth more than the source of every source of wisdom...the Bible!

I invite you to pray with me…“Lord, thank You for Your Word that blesses, heals, and satisfies me. I choose to read and apply it every day. Help me understand its depths so that I can find nuggets of truth in it throughout this morning’s course. I bless Your name! Amen.”

Thanks for existing!

About this Plan

7 Habits To Develop Spiritual Growth

We all have our little morning habits. We could also call them routines, the first things we do in the morning. Throughout these seven days, I’d like to propose a series about these first moments, these first actions, these first thoughts of our days. We will discover how we can create habits to develop our spiritual growth.
