ENOUGH: POWER

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:19-20)

When we come together to the throne of grace and join in the same prayer, there’s no denying: not only does God answer – Jesus is right there with us. As we reflect on how Jesus died for us, let’s also remember how He rose from the grave. That same resurrection power is available to us, as the apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:11: “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”

The purpose of our Lenten Appeal this year is to join with God as He brings restoration to people who live in some of the poorest communities on earth. This Lent is an opportunity to gather in Jesus’ name, with friends and family, brothers and sisters, to give God thanks and praise as we lift up every man, woman and child who live in the slums and ask Him to bless them. 

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for giving us Your resurrection power. We pray for this same power to change lives and encourage hearts for those in the poorest communities. In Your mighty name we pray. Amen.
