John The Baptist For You

DAY 1 OF 5

You've got mail

Have you ever waited to get something in the mail and checked the mailbox every day in anticipation that you would receive it? There’s a sense of excitement and eagerness that builds up inside of you because you just want it in your hands!

John the Baptist’s birth was a lot like waiting for the mail to come. John’s dad, Zechariah, was told by God that he was going to have a son with his wife, Elizabeth, and it would only be a matter of time before John was born. But Zechariah and Elizabeth were too old to have a baby, so he didn’t believe it. What Zechariah didn’t know was that God has a special plan with John. He wasn’t just any ordinary baby.

From the beginning, God had a specific purpose for John the Baptist’s life – “He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to the children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous – to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

That’s pretty cool. He would go on to tell people about Jesus for generations to come. John the Baptist had incredible purpose!

Great news! You have purpose, too. Did you know God thought about you before you were even born? Even if there are people that don’t believe it, God created you for a purpose, unique to you.

No one knows us better than God and no one has a better purpose for our life than God. In the next few days, you will discover how John managed to live life to its fullest, and how much we can learn from him.

P.S. If you want to receive an encouraging email in your inbox every day, I invite you to subscribe to A Miracle Every Day. By subscribing, y ou will receive a E-book!
