30/30 Challenge Reading Plan

DAY 27 OF 30

The Bible is God’s love letter to us. It reveals that God is love—He loves us unconditionally, constantly and completely. And as John 10:10 says, He wants us to have and enjoy life abundantly. But there’s something that can keep us from enjoying our lives: sin. It’s important for us to learn how to confront sin and overcome it, because while God loves sinners, He hates sin. He hates it because of what it does to us and how it keeps us from the abundant life Jesus died to give us.

So many people live in an endless cycle of sinning, feeling guilty and condemned, suffering under guilt and condemnation for awhile, and then eventually believing God will forgive them or they’ve paid for it enough to be forgiven. This isn’t God’s plan for us. And studying His Word is the key to discovering His Truth that sets us free from sin.

The Bible teaches us that Jesus paid a tremendous price for us so we could have abundant life. He willingly took all of our sin on Himself and gave His life on the cross so we could be forgiven and have new life in Him.

As a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), the Holy Spirit lives in your spirit, and you have His strength to do God’s will. This means we don’t have to live with anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, depression, addictions, self-pity, selfishness or anything else that isn’t Christlike. Philippians 4:13 (AMP) says we have strength for all things in Christ, we’re ready for anything, and we are self-sufficient in His sufficiency. In other words, we can do whatever we need to do, according to God’s will, by the strength and ability we have in Christ!

Walk It Out

God loves you so much and He wants you to have a good life that you enjoy. In Christ, we don’t ever have to settle for a mediocre life filled with compromise because of sin. You are a new creation in Christ, alive in Him and dead to sin. Study Romans 6, which teaches us how we are free from slavery to sin through our relationship with Christ. It’s the key to enjoying more freedom in the new life you have in Him!

About this Plan

30/30 Challenge Reading Plan

Are you studying the Bible or just casually reading it? God doesn’t want us to just skim His Word—He wants us to meditate on it and to allow it to change us from the inside out. That’s why Joyce Meyer issued the challenge to study God’s Word for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. This 30-day reading plan consists of encouragement from Joyce that will help you develop the habit of daily scripture reading. We’re confident this study will help you engage with the Bible and discover the impact it can make on your life. Give God 30 days and see what happens!
