Day Five - Loved Back To Life
The secret of victory, is in the power of love. – Mike Bickle
There’s nothing that we can do to earn the love that God has for us. He just loves us. His love for us doesn’t change or shift because of our attitudes or actions. It’s constant—the same each day.
It’s easy to accept that God loves us all, corporately. It’s something we hear often in church, and we can find it easy to believe that God loves the body of Christ as a group. But it’s important to recognise that He loves you as an individual. He loves you personally, singly—flaws and all. He sees you and the depth of who you are and still calls you “beloved.”
This was a concept that I found hard to identify with, because in life I always felt as though I had to earn love from people, and prove that I was worthy of it. However, this is not the same when it comes to God our Father. We don’t have to do anything to gain His love. It’s ready and available for us to receive. We are His children and greatly adored by Him.
But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 (KJV)
This scripture blows my mind each time I read it. There was no guarantee that any of us would turn away from our life of sin and surrender to Him. Yet He still sent Christ to die for us, because to Him we were worth the sacrifice. What type of love is that? It’s this type of love that shows just how much we mean to God and just how much He values us. He is fully devoted to, and in constant pursuit of you and me.
You must seek not only to know this love but also to abide in it and make it your reality, daily. Our love for Him is rooted in the awareness of His love for us. When you truly acknowledge how much you are loved by Him it impacts the way you live, love yourself, and others. It sets a standard for who and what you allow in your heart.
When you read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, it not only speaks of the type of love that we should have towards others as believers, but it describes the type of love that God is constantly displaying towards us. This type of love destroys any lie that may tell you that God will, or has, given up on you. It’s this love that should compel you to turn from a life of sin and to live a life that honours Him.
It’s this pure and genuine love that can revive and restore you back to life—to be all that God intended for you to be—confident, bold, purpose driven, free, joyful, victorious and much more. There is nothing that can separate you from His love and your healing and victory is woven in this amazing truth. You must know love to see love and to be love.
