Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage

DAY 2 OF 5

True grace is based on a relationship with God as our heavenly Father and not as a taskmaster constantly chastising us about what’s right and what’s wrong. God’s judgment is a friend of those who desire right standing with Him because the judgment removes the roots of death that bring destruction. Judgment from a legalistic standpoint, however, binds us to those dead roots.

God’s character and nature are unchanging. He is a God of love. He is love. And His historic testimony of victory—covered in compassion, mercy, and grace—deserves our trust and the time and focus it takes to dig into our complete heritage so we can know Him more completely for the fullness of who He is.

You have open doors, windows, and opportunities in your life that have not yet been identified. There are things about you and your faith that are buried in history and that you may know nothing about. Discovering these things can be one of the most exciting quests you can ever embark upon. Your hunger for truth—the truth about who you are and who and what you are rooted in—is just the beginning of laying a foundation for identity, success, and legacy. The void you may feel and the ache you may have for more will propel you into purpose. . . .

Quite simply, when God so generously sent His only Son to improve and empower God’s covenant mandates by expunging sin at the cross and tearing the veil that separated us from His shekinah glory, thereby giving access to His presence to all who would call on the name of the Lord, He paved the path for the return of all the peoples of the earth to Himself. He made it possible for anyone who comes to Him to lead a life of identity, destiny, and power.

The power of covenant that changes identity and purpose—and thereby creates thoughts, actions, and deeds in line with covenant—has to be revealed in and through a mental cleansing of attitudes and perception. This  allows us to see that our unchanging God is, in fact, the supreme Giver. He is not a taker. Every good and perfect gift comes from Him.

It’s time we stepped into the lives Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice to give us. It is, literally, what we were made for.
