Called to Break Bread
As Christians, we are called to “break bread” with one another. Breaking bread is a metaphor that represents the power and blessing of our connectedness and unity to one another as the Body of Christ. The Father not only made us His children but also gave us one another. We are family! And as one family, we are called to break bread together—to share with, support, and serve each other. Are you in regular fellowship with your spiritual family?
As God’s family, we are not to compare or compete with each other, but instead, we comfort, encourage, and build each other up. Christ designed His family to complete each other. We, the Body of Christ, are a beautiful, Spirit-empowered extension of Christ Jesus. We have one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. We are God’s beautiful Household, His radiant Bride, and powerful Body.
And although we await complete perfection, I can still see our Savior’s glorious and stunning beauty in us. Can you?
All around the world, I see the family of God working together to rescue the oppressed, assist the refugee, feed the hungry, care for the sick, and equip the impoverished.
Together, I see us intentionally praying, sacrificially giving, lovingly serving, powerfully preaching, thoughtfully teaching, and passionately fulfilling the Great Commission.
Together, we help serve the persecuted and the orphan. We equip and empower one another by hosting conferences, writing new books and blogs, sharing on podcasts, and by posting on YouTube and other social media. We create movies and music with God’s timeless message and offer countless other resources—all to further God’s Kingdom and glory.
Together, we lovingly encourage, support, and serve each other in our homes, churches, and other worship settings.
Yes, together, we daily push back the darkness in this fallen world by faithfully following Jesus, and together, we are radiant.
Prayer: I thank You, Righteous Father, that You have woven me into Your royal, priestly, and precious family. May I be faithful with the abilities and callings You’ve given me to serve the Church (Your Body), and my Family.
