Teens' Top Questions About the Bible AnsweredSample
Is there a sin that God won’t forgive?
When some of the Pharisees saw Jesus performing miracles, they said that Jesus was possessed by the devil and was driving out demons because of Satan’s power. This was an example of very serious blasphemy, because they denied that Jesus was the Son of God and denied that Jesus did miracles with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Throughout the Bible it is clear that God is willing to forgive sins if people repent and ask for forgiveness. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). God does not say that if a person commits a single sin he or she can never be forgiven. But if a person continues to deny that Jesus is God’s Son and refuses to accept the Holy Spirit’s work, that person has chosen to separate himself or herself from God, and God will not allow or forgive that.
